A Sweet Mellow Mint Tea with our own Kenyan Blue Basil and Ginger
This is a family recipe tea that we've been making for years. Its Lauren go to brew for winding down in the evenings. It combines 3 of our farms most important crops Peppermint, Ginger and Kenyan Blue Basil. This is not a boring mint tea y'all, The peppermint brings you all the cool soothing flavor you expect and then the Kenyan Blue basil delivers sweet fruitiness, clove and a kind of spicey vanilla all accompanied by a little kick of yellow ginger
Enjoy hot or cold, sweeten to taste (Lauren's choice is a teaspoon of Agave Nectar)
Made with Peppermint Leaves, Kenyan Blue Basil, Ginger
Net weight is 20 grams, makes 20-24 servings or 3, 2 quarts pitchers
Brewing Instructions: For individual serving- Place one teaspoon in a tea ball or infuser, heat 8oz of water to 210 F or boiling, pour hot water in to container with tea, allow to steep for 5-10min (longer for a stronger flavor), sweeten to taste.
For a 2 quart pitcheruse 2 &1/2 tablespoons to 1quart of boiling water, the easiest way is to place the loose tea directly into the water in the pot and bring the water to a boil, as soon as the water reaches the boiling point turn off heat, stir the mixture to ensure everything is full incorporated, remove pot from the hot surface and allow it to cool to a safe handling temperature, after it has cooled place a fine mesh strainer over your pitcher, pour your tea into strainer so that the water and not the tea is flowing into the pitcher, top your pitcher off with an additional quart of water and sweeten to taste.
